Transformative Yoga & Meditation

Retreat

with Jeff Phenix
8 days

4th – 11th February 2024

Overview

Escape winter and join Jeff Phenix for his popular transformative yoga retreat in South Goa on beautiful Polem beach, South Goa. Enjoy a week of yoga, meditation sun, sea, making new friends, eating delicious, healthy food, massage and general fun and relaxation.

Practicing yoga in Goa will make you feel amazing so you will return home feeling recharged, energized and ready to take on life.

The Yoga

The long morning practice will be a dynamic, creative, playful and explorative ‘deep slow flow’ asana practice and will include meditation and pranayama. By emphasizing the breath, mindfulness & skillful action and building up through a range of appropriate options – students, from the less experienced to the more advanced, will discover how to work peacefully at the level appropriate to them.

The afternoon session will be a mellower, soothing and nurturing practice, delving into areas such as yin yoga, restoratives, pranayama, chakras, yoga nidra and meditation. This will totally bliss you out! We finish in time to watch the sun go down and maybe even indulge a sunset swim.

Jeff has lots of experience teaching students of all levels. His depth of understanding, playful approach, ability to challenge students to safely explore their edge and his love of pranayama and meditation will give you the perfect opportunity to deepen your practice both physically and internally

Things to Do

There is plenty of time between yoga sessions to relax on the beach, immerse yourself in a book, hang out with new friends, indulge in a massage, explore Patnem and Palolem a 15 min rickshaw away, walk to a nearby beach or even have a siesta!

We will have one afternoon off yoga to allow for a longer excursion or dolphin watching boat trip which is included in the cost of the holiday.

Food

The food at Bamboo is a highlight of the week.! Light fruit and teas are available before morning yoga and fruit and cookies mid afternoon. Delicious healthy, freshly cooked vegetarian food is served buffet style for brunch and dinner. There is plenty choice and variety and they are happy to accommodate specific dietary needs. You definitely won’t be hungry!

About Jeff

Being a keen sportsman growing up, I always enjoyed that sense of ‘getting in the zone’, so it was a profound experience when I discovered yoga and meditation in India in the mid 90’s. I loved how it made me feel and how I experienced the world and myself in a different way and I have been teaching since 2002. My unique teaching style is a woven tapestry inspired by my personal experience and studies with many amazing yoga teachers from a wide range of yoga schools but mainly vinyasa flow, Iyengar, Anusara, Viniyoga, Jivamukti and Satyananda yoga.

I enjoy being creative with my sequencing and postures, and love incorporating meditation and the traditional spirituality and philosophy of yoga into my teaching.

As a yoga teacher, I want to awaken my students’ sense of bliss and wonder and help them become more at peace and ease with themselves and the world.

I have trained students on teacher training courses for over 10 years, initially with triyoga and more recently Yoga West, I teach weekly classes in London and Buckinghamshire and regular UK and international retreats.
